Plumbing For A Cause - Accepting Food Donations For Service

|

We are committed to serving our customers AND our community. That’s why we have partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Second Harvest has the vision to create “An Orange County with food and nutritional security for all.” Food scarcity and hunger affect residents in our community and especially impact children, seniors, and working families.

Who Is Affected in Orange County?

  • 29.4% of low-income seniors are food insecure

  • 1 in 8 children is at risk of hunger

  • Low-income families and individuals are often 1 paycheck away from hunger

  • Single parents are especially vulnerable and lack support and resources

With rising costs in rent, medication, groceries, utilities, and fuel, our community neighbors are struggling to make ends meet. Imagine having to choose between a roof over your family or food in your belly – that is what many residents throughout Orange County are facing day to day.

We care about our community and want to help, and are counting on our customer’s support. That is why we are excited to launch our community initiative: providing plumbing, drain, heating, and air conditioning services in exchange for food donations.

How Does It Work?

We are offering our home and business maintenance and annual services for the cost of a food donation. It is pretty simple, and a win-win for everyone. Our customers get a furnace or A/C tune-up, drain service, or water heater flush, and Orange County residents in need get a donation and a team that “has their back”!

Available Services:

  • Annual Furnace Tune-up, safety check, and Indoor Air Quality Inspection

  • Annual Air Conditioning Tune-up, safety check, and Indoor Air Quality Inspection

  • Whole Home Plumbing Evaluation + Water Heater Flush

  • Bio 1 Treatment for fresh and clear drains

Choose any of the above services and pay with a one-time donation of minimum 3 items of unopened, non-perishable foods. Our team will do the rest! We will accept donations on-site at the time of service, and weekly take our donations directly to the Second Harvest Food Bank.

What Are the Most Needed Non-Perishable Food Items?

  • Peanut Butter

  • Nut Butter

  • Canned Vegetables (Low Sodium)

  • Canned Fruit

  • Canned Beans

  • Whole Grain Pasta

  • Individually packaged Snacks

  • Canned or Boxed Soup (Low Sodium)

  • Canned Meat

  • Dried Fruit

  • Raw Nuts

  • Rice

The above list covers a wide range of nutritious food that goes a long way in donations. But, all non-perishable foods are welcome. Second Harvest asks that food be unopened with the original label attached, within the “use by '' or Best if used by” dates, free of damage, and kindly requests no glass containers.

Second Harvest also accepts personal care items in high demand such as Diapers, Toothpaste and Toothbrushes, Toilet Paper, Soap, Feminine Care Products, Shampoo, and Conditioner.

In return for your donation, we will provide you with a plumbing, drain, A/C, or Furnace inspection and/or service. Our team of experienced technicians will provide you with high-quality service that you can count on.
