John Stevenson Plumbing was the second plumber I called. First, I tried our regular plumber, but they wanted to charge me their ``after-hours`` rate at 3:30 in the afternoon and couldn't get anyone here for at least 2 hours. Forget that! I had an active leak I couldn't stop. When I called JSP, they not only said they would be charging their daytime prices, but they don't charge by the hour--they charge by the job, by what actually needs to be done. Refreshing! Then they had a plumber here in less than 30 minutes, and he was the Field Supervisor, no less. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. He gave me an estimate, including a new-client discount of about 10%, and explained what he was going to do. We had a whole new pressure regulator and shutoff valve in about an hour! He cleaned up the space, gave us some helpful recommendations for avoiding future leaks, a quick tutorial on turning off the water at the street (which I couldn't figure out how to do before), how to bleed air out of the water lines, and was on his way.
